As our Retail Supervisor, you'll play a key role in bringing the retail experience at the newly reimagined Paisley Museum to life. Working alongside the Retail Manager, you'll help lead the day-to-day operation of our bespoke museum shop, ensuring visitors enjoy a welcoming, engaging and memorable experience from the moment they arrive.
Paisley Museum is undergoing a transformational redevelopment and will become a world-class cultural destination, combining internationally significant collections with innovative visitor experiences. Our retail offer is a vital part of that journey, extending the museum experience through carefully curated products, inspiring displays and outstanding customer service.

Key Responsibilities
- Support the day-to-day supervision of the museum retail operation, ensuring high standards of customer service at all times.
- Lead, motivate and support colleagues to deliver an exceptional visitor experience.
- Create engaging visual merchandising displays that enhance the customer journey and drive sales.
- Monitor stock levels and support effective stock management processes.
- Handle cash management, reconciliations and banking procedures accurately and efficiently.
- Support promotional activities and retail initiatives to maximise commercial performance.
- Resolve customer enquiries and issues professionally and positively.
- Build strong relationships with colleagues, customers, suppliers and stakeholders.
- Help maintain a safe, welcoming and well-presented retail environment.
- Contribute ideas and solutions that continuously improve the retail and visitor experience.
What We're Looking For
We're looking for an energetic and customer-focused retail professional who can lead by example and inspire others.
You'll ideally have:
- Experience supervising and developing people within a retail environment.
- A passion for delivering outstanding customer service.
- Strong leadership, coaching and communication skills.
- Experience of merchandising and creating attractive retail displays.
- Good commercial awareness and an understanding of how retail activity influences sales performance.
- Experience managing stock, cash handling and financial processes.
- The ability to work collaboratively and build positive working relationships.
- A proactive, organised and solutions-focused approach.
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to perform well under pressure.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and shifts to meet the needs of the business.
